Thief kicks in door, puts arm around man’s neck and a knee in his side to steal $450 and a phone

46-year-old Jacques Green was charged with aggravated burglary and robbery after kicking in the door to someone’s home and stealing cash as well as a cell phone from their pocket.

On September 2nd, Memphis Police Officers were dispatched to a robbery at 211 North Bellevue. Stanley Washington reported that a male, known to him as Jac, came to his door demanding to be let inside the home. Washington stated that when he refused to let Jac inside, so he kicked the door open and entered without permission. Washington explained that he ended up on the bed, with Jac’s arm in his neck and a knee in his side. According to Washington, Jac stole $450 dollars from his pocket along with his cell phone.

Washington went to his neighbor’s house to call the police. A Task Force Officer made the scene and recognized the name Jac as being Jacques Green. Green was located at Court Avenue and Watkins Street and was escorted back to the scene. Green was positively identified through process of elimination and by Washington as the person responsible for the incident. Green was found to be in possession of Washington’s cell phone which was returned.

Jacques Green was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and robbery. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
